Photography by Nancy Davis

I was born in Peoria, Illinois and grew up in Bartonville. I have two daughters and two grandsons in a Chicago suburb and one granddaughter living here. My youngest daughter is in the army, stationed at Ft. Knox, KY.

I graduated from ICC and attended the University of Illinois in Springfield and Kennedy-Western University.

I received my first camera for Christmas at the age of 10. It was the only thing that I wanted. I found the same camera in an antique store in Springfield a few years ago. I took it apart at the counter and the guy laughed and said that “I looked like I knew what I was doing!”

I continued to have camera throughout my life, but became serious when I received my first 35mm camera. I took all of the photo classes at ICC and then attended workshops with a retired National Geographic photographer, Bill Thomas.

I worked with Bill for several years. I’ve earned my Freelance Press credentials and have three published photos to my credit.

My art group memberships include Bohemian Art Society, the Washington Art League and the Illinois Art League. I have been a board member of IAL for three years.

Currently, I have prints hanging in Riverside Originals Gallery in Hannibal, MO and the Galesburg Civic Art Center. I’ve had numerous gallery shows.

The last three years I have been co-chairman of the Peoria Heights Fine Art Fair. It’s grown and become a very special yearly event.

Photography is my passion and my cameras are always with me!
